She is currently the President of the Stroke Society of the Philippines (SSP). She has helped disseminate stroke education, conducted thrombolysis workshops and helped established stroke units all over the 7,100 islands of the Philippines with the help of SSP.
She is an Associate Professor at the University of the Philippines College of Medicine and Chair of Research Committee of the Philippine Neurological Association.
She has a European Masters in Stroke Medicine from Danube University, Austria and a Masters in Clinical Epidemiology from the University of the Philippines. She had her Neurology residency training from the Philippine General Hospital and residency in Internal Medicine from Manila Doctors Hospital.
